Education for the community

In Csepel, Alpiq is committed to education and works in partnership with local schools, universities, and companies. We arrange field physics classes on-site that focus on power technology and the combined power cycle.

"The kids were fully amazed by the hospitality that surrounded them. In addition to the level of housekeeping and discipline, they found it quite reassuring that the Power Plant runs in such a safe manner. The guide was very interesting and presented in a way which exactly met the age of the pupils. We are absolutely satisfied with the whole programme, and we are so pleased that we had this opportunity to visit the site." Ferenc Kölcsey, Csepel Elementary and Secondary School

In 2010, the Alpiq-Csepel Local History Quiz was held for the fifth time, supported by Csepp TV. There was a live TV broadcast of the final round that showed the Csepel students in the competition.

Alpiq also supports the arts. We work in partnership with experts to show great works of art to the community.

"Apiql Csepel Business sponsored an exciting premiere. This is the first time for the Hungarian public to visit an exhibition in Budapest presenting the works of Swiss symbolist painter Ferdinand Hodler. This large exhibition has been organised in cooperation by the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts and the Kunstmuseum of Bern, and no exhibition of Hodler's works of such scale has been arranged in Switzerland for 25 years. No such comprehensive exhibition of the life work of any major western artist has ever been organised in Budapest." Balázs Kégli, General Manager, Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest
